Blue skies at dusk on the way to the tourist spot of Little Venice, the former home of the washerwomen!
Boat trips are available in Colmar on the Lauch, the name of the river that runs through the town: a great way to see Colmar in a different way, by the water!
It's so much fun! These specially-shaped flat-bottomed boats were originally used by market gardeners to transport their vegetables to market.
The boat trip takes you to various parts of Colmar. The famous Petite Venise, of course, but also the residential district of Les Maraîchers, where the vegetables used to come from, before returning to the town center to Les Halles, still home to a covered market today.
The boat glides slowly along the water, letting you admire the scenery: half-timbered houses and lush greenery. The atmosphere is peaceful and pleasant.
Cheerful, cheerful, picturesque - that's Alsace and Alsatians! Here's an image that captures the cheerfulness of Alsace, where I spent part of my adolescence! Festivities, traditions, joyful laughter are all around! The gastronomy is rich, and the colors shimmer with flowers everywhere in every season! Contemplating this photo always makes you cheerful!
Colmar and Strasbourg reflect this, with their typical half-timbered houses and bridges, wood-fired specialties and gourmet cuisine, not to mention the fine wines and vineyards along the Alsace wine route!
This photo illustrates the smile of Alsace, to which we always return!
