Michael Portillo

Passionate about traveling and in constant quest of change of scenery, I travel the world as soon as the opportunity arises. From Icelandic glaciers in the Oman desert to the Slovenian mountains or the mythical Bali, I'm always looking for the most authentic experiences. The link between photography and travel is obvious to me so much that I drew my motto: "I travel to photograph, just as I photograph to travel". My explorations in nearly 50 countries, on 5 continents, have been a great source of photographic inspiration and it is this vision of the world that I aspire to share through my photos. While traveling, the subjects are infinite but my sensitivity is oriented towards landscape photography with the aim of highlighting the beauty and diversity of nature. The scenes of life, the portraits of the populations or the wildlife are other elements that I like to capture during my explorations. Whether traveling or photography I like to take the time, take the time to discover a country, take the time to build a photographic series. Thus, some of my photo series have been running for several years now, such as "icy earth", "Portraits of Asia (s)" or "The Anonymous". When I'm not reporting I'm a photo trainer for Graine de Photographe, the leader in photography courses in France, and I organize photo trips to Slovenia and Bali, in partnership with travel agencies Worldway Photo and Bali Autrement.
