Delphine BERTRAND

Ever since I was a child in Marseilles in the 70s, I've been staring into the eyes of my father's SLR. My passion was born. I want to keep all the memories, with a simple click. I want to remember everything, the colors, the impressions, the sensations, the movements, to relive and share it all. Following an unexpected return of money, I decided to make my lifelong dream come true: to travel to the ends of the earth. First I discovered the colors and flavors of South America. Then I wandered around West Africa and travelled to other corners of the planet. Throughout my travels, I kept a blog to share my adventures with friends. In the course of my posts and the comments of my followers, I soon realized that my photos conveyed my emotions better than my words. The wonder of a landscape, the thrill of a musician or the movements of a dancer on stage, all these emotions to capture. In August 2012, I put my bag on my back for this time around the world, and hit the streets of America, Australia, Thailand, New Zealand and Polynesia. Trying to blend into the urban jungle, I drew my camera without getting caught, capturing life's situations as well as the mundane and extraordinary gestures of everyday life. Black and white evokes the mystery of people and reflects the timelessness of big-city sidewalks.
