Archivio Farabola

Cinema - Festival

The Farabola Archives are one of the largest and oldest Italian photographic archives. Among its shelves, it retains the negative points of the agency founded by Tullio Farabola (1920-1983), one of the first and most famous Italian photojournalists, and many participants. Farabola has bred a series of photographers able to work without schedules and without paying too much attention to the inconveniences to fix the event, big or small, political or social, artistic or sporting, national or international. Then the idea was born in Farabola to create, alongside daily work, an archive of images as large and exhaustive as possible in the themes, continuously updated, as required by photojournalism. He then completed his equipment by acquiring, in the post-war period, some photographic collections from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of our century. Today, the archives are still alive and keep millions of negatives that tell of these years, from sport to cinema to daily news. Fragments of a world that no longer exists.
