SANTOS OLIVARES

Documentary photographer and portraitist mainly interested in the human being as transmitter and receiver of feelings, ideas, thoughts and intentions. I work both in the studio and on location; sometimes without intervening in the environment, and other times looking for suitable locations or creating scenarios and styles from an idea. I move from the most formal to the most experimental portrait, from hieratism to movement, from presence to frugality, from confinement to abandonment and the dissolution of the limits that enclose us physically and psychically. Still life is a place to which I return from time to time in search of a more intimate conversation. Flowers inspire emotion, purity and flesh. They are elements of expression of eroticism, sensuality, beauty and fragility. They have a personality of their own. They go beyond being pretty or simple decorative elements. In their contemplation, I find peace and tranquility.
