In 1981, the Boca Juniors team spent a fortune to take away the prodigy from the Argentinos. Maradona only played two seasons for the Buenos Aires blues and gold, but these were certainly among the most significant of her career. He won the championship of course but above all humiliated the legendary rival of Boca, River Plate by scoring two of the three goals of the victory, and being strongly involved in the third. During this season, he scored 28 goals in 40 games.
