A sailboat advances towards a particularly threatening cloud bridge, somewhere off the coast of Provence, in the Mediterranean. It is an intriguing and quite disturbing phenomenon. Imagine yourself on a small sailboat a dozen meters long, far offshore, where no land is visible. The sky seems fairly clear except here, where an immense black mass bars the sky with its stormy swirls. The sailboat is still in the light, but it engages, recklessly, under the bridge of clouds. No threat from heaven can constrain him. Come what may.
