On February 20, 1967, the Duke Ellington 15-piece ensemble, which included many big names in jazz, gave a special two-hour concert in Cambridge. 1,300 people crowded into the church for this unique performance, which featured tap dancing and a long drum solo. Besides Ellington on keyboards, the stars of the evening were trumpeter Cat Anderson, saxophonist Johnny Hodges, drummer Rufus "Speedy" Jones and singer Esther Marrow.
