Slim Aarons is one of the most famous photographer of the XX century. He was born and raised in New York and New Hampshire (United States of America). He started his career as a photographer after joining the US Army at the age of 18 years old. He was quickly appointed was appointed as the official photographer of the United States Military Academy at West Point.

When world war II started, he was sent to North Africa, Middle East and Europe as a combat photographer for Yank magazine. At the end of the war, he worked as a photographer for leading magazines such as Life and Vogue and portrayed high society people (business men, writers, artists...) in their milieu. such as pool parties in Beverly Hills or ski sessions in Gstaad. His work is a testimony of the 1950s and 1960s "golden age".

When Life magazine opened a bureau in Rome, Slim Aarons decided to move to Europe where he continued to shoot "beautiful people".

In recent years, the influence of his work has been increasingly acknowledged and he is now regarded as one of the most influential photographers of his generation.
