The Mat

We suggest you add a mat to your photograph.

It is a white cardboard with bevelled edges placed between the frame and the photograph. The mat has a double function:

  • Better protection: the mount creates a space between the photograph and the glass, which limits contact and thus protects your piece of art.
  • Improved aesthetics: the mat gives depth, sharpness and brightness, while improving the transition effect with the frame.

Description of the photograph

Paris (France), 1925. The Moulin Rouge, one of the most famous Tabarins in the world, as it appeared in 1925. Built in 1889 in Montmartre, the Moulin Rouge enjoyed rapid success with the French Cancan immortalized by the painter Toulose Lautrec. After 1903 all the French vedettes were produced here, from Mistinguett to Chevalier. Transformed into a cinema after the advent of the sound film, a ballroom was rebuilt under the cinema hall which still today is dedicated to the traditional genre of the Moulin Rouge.
