Biologist and geologist by training, naturalist and photographer by passion, I travel season after season through the Alps, the Jura and the Bugey, or various more distant regions, in search of new images of wild forests, lakes and mountains, fauna and flora, still preserved from the accelerated trivialization of the environment and the landscapes...
To photograph is not only to record and reproduce reality, it is also to sublimate it and interpret it in an artistic way, by a framing and a focal length which stimulates the imagination and surprises the eye. I therefore use mainly the very wide angle (12 mm) which magnifies the foreground, and makes the image breathe, or the long focal lengths (200 mm and more) which allow to isolate a remarkable detail and to focus the attention. I work mainly with full frame Nikon equipment. The BIOSPHOTO agency markets most of my images, since 1991...

I published with Glénat "Les Métamorphoses de l'Alpe", a book which illustrates the perpetual transformations of mountain landscapes during the seasons (Grand Prix du livre d'images de montagne de Passy ). Several times finalist in the Asferico, WPY, etc. competitions.

I expose my portfolios on my website : jean-philippe-delobelle.com
