Florent Quint

Before becoming interested in documentary photography, I studied cinema at the Ecole supérieure de réalisation audiovisuelle (ESRA Paris).

After graduation, I worked for a few years in post-production of films, documentaries, commercials and music videos, then founded a production company with a friend. Together, we produce short films and develop feature films.

The attacks that hit France in 2015 profoundly changed my relationship to the world. The development of a script and the production of films over several years appear to me to be futile. I wish to have a more direct and immediate contact with the world around me.

At the same time, and almost by chance, I have the opportunity to exhibit photographs of my various solo travels in a small Parisian space. The work is well received, and for me it is a great pleasure to exhibit images that I have never shown to anyone before.

The fact that I am finally sharing my work is revealing. I sell my shares in my production company and decide to devote myself to photography.

This reconversion is carried out patiently, with the implementation of projects of funds in the journalistic and documentary photography. I wish to work on human subjects. I like to "infiltrate bubbles", to enter a world reserved to a restricted group and to give it to others. It is important to me to focus on subjects that allow me to transmit a positive message.
