The Mat

We suggest you add a mat to your photograph.

It is a white cardboard with bevelled edges placed between the frame and the photograph. The mat has a double function:

  • Better protection: the mount creates a space between the photograph and the glass, which limits contact and thus protects your piece of art.
  • Improved aesthetics: the mat gives depth, sharpness and brightness, while improving the transition effect with the frame.

Description of the photograph

The Apollo 11 crew checks the fit and operation of the crew compartment, equipment and storage locations in its control module. From the hatch, Neil Armstrong, commander, is seen from left to right; Michael Collins, Pilot of the Command Module; and Buzz Aldrin, pilot of the lunar module. Armstrong and Aldrin later performed a similar check on board the lunar module, which brought them to the lunar surface on July 20, 1969.
